# Workspace and billing

> Manage team seats, credits, account settings, and organization review controls.

## Account and plans

Open **Account** to inspect your plan, allowance, purchased-credit balance, and
available billing actions. Billing administrators can change plans, buy credits,
and open the billing portal. Checkout and provider confirmation determine the
actual price, proration, and taxes; see [current pricing](https://www.diffraction.sh/pricing).

Annual subscriptions still renew the included allowance monthly on the subscription
anchor. Included allowance does not erase consumption when seats change. An active
subscription is required for ordinary purchased-credit top-ups.

## Credits

A hosted review costs **two Diffraction credits**. A billed visualization costs
**one credit**; opening existing evidence does not itself create a new review.
Included allowance is used before purchased credits where organization policy permits.

Credits are reserved when work is admitted and settled according to completed
delivery. A delivered review with findings can consume credits even if its Check
fails. Failed delivery releases its reservation; an unresolved operation can keep
credits reserved until its outcome is known. Repeated delivery of one request is
idempotent. An intentional new rerun or request uses a new credit reservation.

Diffraction credits are separate from internal model-provider dollars and
infrastructure costs. The repository's dollar budget is an execution guardrail,
not the customer credit price.

## Team

Active workspace members can inspect **Team** for names, account levels, and
invitation status. Administrators manage invitations and Developer/Viewer seats;
being a paid developer does not by itself grant administration rights. The owner
retains a Developer seat. Review execution requires developer entitlement.

On ordinary plans, team changes require Pro. Paid invitations and upgrades show
recurring cost confirmation, including the possibility of proration and taxes.
Pending invitations reserve seats. If a provider operation is still synchronizing,
use the displayed retry/reconciliation action before attempting another change.

Invitations accept email addresses or GitHub member suggestions from connected
organizations. A hidden or missing GitHub email must be entered. Invitations go
to the confirmed email; choosing a GitHub profile does not establish an account link.

## Organization controls

Administrators can configure these in **Settings**:

* A monthly Diffraction credit limit, including reservations and settled consumption.
* Whether purchased credits may fund new work.
* A pause for new reviews.
* Which optional checks and test execution repositories may enable.
* Pro [company review rules](/docs/site/context#company-and-brand-rules).
* The [agent connection write ceiling](/docs/site/agents#access-controls).

The credit-control window is a **UTC calendar month**, separate from the plan's
allowance period. Pending older reservations still count. If tracking started
partway through a month, the first period is labeled partial; earlier completed
usage is not invented. A lower limit or pause does not cancel admitted runs.
Saving these controls does not purchase credits or change subscription/seat charges.

## Beta access

An assigned beta grant can provide Starter or Pro features with a shared,
periodically renewed allowance and included team seats. Members retain their
roles and the chosen plan's feature limits. Beta credits do not roll over or fall
back to purchased credits when exhausted. The account page shows the renewal
and any expiry. Purchases are disabled while a beta grant is active.

Beta access is assigned by Diffraction; it is not a public unlimited free plan.
An ordinary Starter account does not inherit beta team behavior.

## Account changes

Account provides team renaming and account deletion with confirmation. Complete
pending billing changes first. A sole active administrator must remove remaining
teammates or arrange another active administrator before deletion. Paid developer
seats and active subscriptions have additional deletion restrictions shown by the
product: end the subscription or have an administrator change the affected paid
seat as appropriate. Account deletion is not an immediate purge of historical
review evidence; its [retention policy](/docs/site/evidence) still applies.
